What I’m Reading This Week

connectedmarketing1 What Im Reading This WeekWith all due respect to the other authors of word of mouth, viral and buzz marketing books out there (especially Andy’s – his book is a must read), Connected Marketing is one of the most buzz-worth books on the topic of buzz, viral and word of mouth marketing that I’ve ever encountered.

Not only is this a great resource for some of the ‘fundamentals’ and ‘how-to’s’ of the subjects, it’s literally a treasure trove of case examples on the aforementioned disciplines with each chapter written by a different author. The whole works is edited by Justin Kirby and Paul Marsden, who’ve done an outstanding job of compiling this work. Moreover, this is NOT just another book about blogging or digitial. In face, it’s mostly about ‘non-digital’ things.

My favorite bits so far are the discussion of The Hawthorne Effect on p. 6 and the whole discussion about Brewtopia, a startup microbrew in Australia, written by the founder – which starts on p. 68.
