What’s your ‘mindset’?
Last week in New Mexico I brought up the Beloit College Mindset List as part of the social media presentation. Most of the audience had never heard of the list. I suppose, if you’re not from Wisconsin, you’ve not heard them talk about it on WPR every year when the list comes out. For me, it’s a yearly ritual waiting for the list to come out each year to get a glimpse into the lives of this year’s college freshmen who are true digital natives.
If you’ve never been exposed to the list, allow me to share a few bits.
Students have always been “Rocking the Vote.”
IBM has never made typewriters.
There has always been Pearl Jam.
Caller ID has always been available on phones.
Windows 3.0 operating system made IBM PCs user-friendly the year they were born.
There are more fun facts like this over at the Beloit College Mindset List website. What’s really fun is to look back at the list from 11 years ago…for students that graduated in 2002.
